Kompany Reacts to Musiala’s Injury Against PSG

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has commented on the serious injury suffered by midfielder Jamal Musiala.

«I`m not often this angry at halftime, and not at my own players — I understand there are more important things in life. For these guys, football is life. People like Jamal live for the game. He had just recovered from one injury, and now a new injury has occurred. You feel helpless. I`m still upset, but not because of the result — that`s football — but because this happened to someone who loves this sport so much. Today we couldn`t prevent Musiala`s injury. You can`t always control everything. It`s very regrettable,»

Kompany`s words are quoted by Bayern & Germany.

The incident took place in the 45+4th minute of the friendly match against PSG, which finished 0:2. Musiala sustained a severe injury following a collision with Parisian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Television footage showed the young Bayern player`s leg bending unnaturally.

According to reports from the German publication Bild, the 22-year-old midfielder is expected to miss 4-5 months and may not play again this year.
