Reports suggest Karl Geraerts is the top candidate to take over as manager at Stade de Reims.
While Samba Diawara`s exit hasn`t been officially announced, it`s understood he won`t remain in charge following Reims` relegation to Ligue 2. The club is actively searching for a replacement, with Geraerts emerging as the leading contender.
Geraerts, who last managed Schalke 04 but has been unattached since September, is not guaranteed to accept the Reims position. It`s reported that other clubs are also interested, including CSKA Moscow, who have reportedly made a significant offer.
Standard Liège is another club linked with Geraerts. Their interest is long-standing, and attempts are being made to pursue a deal, although financial constraints could pose a challenge for the Belgian side.
