Irvin Cardona Signs Permanent Deal with AS Saint-Étienne

Football News

AS Saint-Étienne has officially completed the permanent transfer of Irvin Cardona (27). The French forward previously spent the latter half of the 2023/2024 season on loan with the club, which was recently relegated from Ligue 1.

His initial loan spell last season was at Espanyol, but his parent club, Augsburg, ended that agreement in the winter, paving the way for his temporary return to Les Verts.

Cardona is now committed to helping Saint-Étienne secure promotion back to the top flight, following their relegation on the final day of the season. Les Verts finished the Ligue 1 campaign in 17th place.

Cardona has signed a contract with Saint-Étienne that will keep him at the club until 2028.

After two six-month loans, it’s a source of pride to be able to commit to the long-term with this club. I’m determined to continue to progress and give everything I have to contribute to the project.

The 27-year-old centre-forward expressed his satisfaction.
