Gianluigi Donnarumma Discusses PSG Future Amid Premier League Interest

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has stated his preference is to stay with the club, despite reported interest from Premier League teams.

The attention from clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City stems from the Italian`s contract situation. His current agreement with PSG expires at the end of next season. This presents PSG with two main options: either extend his contract now or consider selling him this summer to prevent losing him on a free transfer next year.

Reports from last month indicated that the decision regarding a contract extension rested with the player. However, the fact that he hasn`t yet signed a new deal has led to growing doubts about whether an agreement will be reached.

Nevertheless, speaking recently, Donnarumma confirmed that his “priority” is to stay at the Parc des Princes past the current summer transfer window. He stated that his “priority” is to stay at PSG and added, “I think that there won’t be problems in the negotiations.”

However, he then introduced a note of uncertainty, saying, “I still don’t know what will happen. I haven’t decided anything.” The goalkeeper, who recently celebrated winning the UEFA Champions League with PSG, acknowledged that the next few weeks would be crucial.
