Fiorentina Hopes for Reduced Gudmundsson Fee

Fiorentina is nearing a permanent transfer agreement for Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa, with a fee expected to be less than the original buy option included in his loan contract.

Gudmundsson was on loan at Fiorentina from Genoa during the 2024-25 season. Fiorentina initially paid €8 million for the loan, which included a €17 million option to make the move permanent.

Last week, Fiorentina decided not to trigger the €17 million buy option. However, they are still keen on acquiring Gudmundsson permanently for a reduced price.

Negotiations are ongoing, with further discussions between Fiorentina and Genoa anticipated soon as they work towards a deal.

Reports suggest Genoa is now willing to offer Fiorentina a small `discount` on Gudmundsson`s transfer fee, potentially allowing him to leave for around €12-€13 million.
