Gennaro Gattuso has officially ended his contract with HNK Hajduk Split by mutual agreement, concluding his tenure at the Croatian club after less than one year.
The coach, who previously managed prominent teams including Milan, Napoli, Valencia, and Olympique Marseille, guided Hajduk Split to a third-place finish in the SuperSport HNL division during his time there.
He oversaw a total of 43 competitive fixtures from the bench, recording 20 victories, 14 draws, and nine defeats. His time with the club also featured some memorable moments in media appearances.
The decision for Gattuso and the club to separate was made while he was already preparing the team for the commencement of the new football season.
Gattuso`s Potential Return to Italian Football
The Italian coach departs alongside his technical staff members: Luigi Riccio, Roberto Perrone, Bruno Dominici, Dino Tenderini, and Marco Sangermani.
An official statement published on the club`s website expressed gratitude, saying: “Mister, we thank you once again for everything and wish you the best in the rest of your life and coaching career!”
Now aged 47, Gattuso is available for a new coaching opportunity, potentially seeking a return to management in Italy, either in Serie A or Serie B.
Among the Italian clubs currently searching for a new head coach are Fiorentina, Cagliari, Lecce, and the newly promoted side Pisa, any of which could be a potential next destination for the former World Cup winner.
