Former Nantes defender Nicolas Pallois set to join Reims

Football News

FC Nantes officially announced on Thursday the departure of defender Nicolas Pallois (37) after eight distinguished years and 243 appearances for the club. The experienced centre-back hasn`t wasted time in lining up his next move.

According to reports from L`Équipe, the French defender is on the verge of signing a one-year contract with Stade de Reims, which includes an option for a second year. Pallois arrives at a club currently in a state of uncertainty, although Reims have successfully presented their budget to the DNCG for the upcoming season.

Les Stadistes were recently relegated to Ligue 2 following defeat to FC Metz in the promotion/relegation play-offs. However, there`s a possibility they could be reinstated to Ligue 1 immediately, pending the outcome of Olympique Lyonnais` appeal against their administrative relegation.

Therefore, it appears highly probable that Pallois will be a Reims player next season, with the division they will compete in remaining uncertain for now.
