Former Nantes defender Nicolas Pallois set to join Reims

Football News

FC Nantes announced on Thursday the departure of veteran defender Nicolas Pallois (37). He is ending his eight-year spell at the club, during which he made 243 appearances.

Pallois, however, appears to have quickly found his next destination. According to reports, the French centre-back is poised to sign for Stade de Reims. He is reportedly set to agree a one-year contract with an option for a second year.

Pallois arrives at a club facing uncertainty. Despite recently being relegated to Ligue 2 after losing their play-off tie against FC Metz, Reims have secured DNCG approval for their budget and could potentially return to Ligue 1 immediately if Olympique Lyonnais` appeal against their administrative relegation is unsuccessful.

Consequently, it seems highly probable that Pallois will be a Reims player next season. The division they will play in, however, remains uncertain.
