First Calhanoglu bid of €17m rejected as Galatasaray talks in full swing

Football News

Galatasaray has reportedly made an initial offer of €17 million for Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, a bid that the Italian club considers significantly undervalued.

Negotiations between the two clubs are understood to have recently begun, following several weeks of speculation that the Turkish international was keen on this transfer.

This situation reportedly created tension between Calhanoglu and his teammates, particularly Lautaro Martinez, who publicly criticized the midfielder for appearing to lack commitment.

Inter demands higher fee for Calhanoglu

While Inter is open to the possibility of Calhanoglu`s departure, they are seeking a transfer fee that reflects his market value, especially considering his contract is valid until June 2027.

The reported €17 million opening bid from Galatasaray is a substantial distance from Inter`s valuation. The Nerazzurri are understood to be asking for a price between €30 million and €35 million for the 31-year-old player.

Although other clubs, including Al-Hilal (coached by former Inter manager Simone Inzaghi) and various Premier League teams, might be prepared to offer a higher sum, Calhanoglu is reportedly determined to join Galatasaray, the club he has supported since childhood.
