FC Köln Sets €50 Million Price Tag for Said El Mala Amid Intense Premier League Interest

Bundesliga News

FC Köln is reportedly increasing their asking price for promising winger Said El Mala, as the young talent continues to draw significant attention from clubs abroad.

Last month, there were strong indications that El Mala was on the verge of a move to Brighton, with a fee of around €35 million believed to be sufficient to secure his transfer away from the German club.

However, the proposed move to Brighton now appears less advanced than initially thought. Consequently, Köln is reportedly prepared to raise the valuation for the 19-year-old, especially given the intensified interest from other prominent Premier League clubs, including Newcastle and Chelsea.

The new projected asking price for El Mala is a substantial €50 million. Chelsea, in particular, is rumored to be preparing an offer in the region of €45 million. Adding to their strategic financial moves, Köln has also bought out the sell-on clause that El Mala’s former club, Viktoria Köln, held from his €225,000 transfer last summer, indicating their intent to maximize any future sale profit.

Said El Mala’s Breakthrough Season:

This current season has undeniably been the 19-year-old’s breakout year. In 27 Bundesliga appearances, he has showcased remarkable form, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists. These vital contributions have established him as the team’s top scorer, playing a crucial role in their ongoing battle against relegation.
