FBC: Firebreak Halts Content Updates, Remedy Introduces Friend’s Pass and Price Reduction

Esports

Remedy Entertainment’s cooperative shooter, FBC: Firebreak, has struggled to find a substantial audience since its launch. Despite riding on the tailwinds of the highly anticipated Alan Wake 2, the game failed to capture significant traction in the competitive live-service landscape. Less than a year after its release, Remedy has announced that FBC: Firebreak will no longer receive new content updates.

However, in a strategic move to broaden its appeal and extend its player base, the developers are introducing a ‘Friend’s Pass’ feature along with a permanent price reduction. The studio hopes these initiatives will help the co-op experience resonate with a wider audience, ensuring the game can continue to find players and remain active “for years to come,” even in the absence of future content additions.
