Pisa, who recently secured promotion to Serie A, are actively seeking a new head coach. This follows the expected departure of Filippo Inzaghi, the manager who successfully led them to Italy`s top flight in the 2024-25 season, who is reportedly moving to Serie B side Palermo.
Sources indicate that the newly promoted Nerazzurri are scheduled to initiate contact with former Serie A star and Italy`s 2006 World Cup winner, Alberto Gilardino, today. The purpose is to explore his potential interest and availability for the coaching position. Gilardino was also recently considered by Parma as they looked for a new manager.
Alberto Gilardino is a primary candidate for the role at Pisa, but he is not the only one being evaluated. Former Milan midfielder Mark van Bommel has also been put forward as a potential option for the club. Pisa`s directors are expected to assess these candidates in the coming hours before making a final decision.
