Guillaume Restes, the 20-year-old goalkeeper for Toulouse FC, experienced a somewhat difficult season in 2023/24. Despite an impressive breakthrough the previous year, which included stand-out performances in the UEFA Europa League, last season saw more inconsistency from the young France youth international, compounded by a series of minor injuries.
However, these recent challenges do not appear to be a major concern regarding his long-term potential. Restes is still widely regarded as one of the most exciting goalkeeping prospects in European football, attracting attention from high-profile clubs.
According to reports from L`Équipe, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are among the clubs showing interest. Bayern view Restes as a potential long-term addition and have reportedly admired the Frenchman since his emergence. However, a transfer this summer seems unlikely, with a potential move being considered for next summer instead.
This means Restes could remain at Toulouse for another season. Alternatively, he might stay in France but make a move to Lille OSC. Lille have reportedly placed him on their list of potential signings should they lose their current goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, who is linked with transfers to Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa.
