Ousmane Dembélé (28) and Bradley Barcola (22) have officially withdrawn from the France national squad. This confirmation was made via an official statement shared on social media. Their departure comes ahead of the team`s UEFA Nations League third-place play-off match against Germany, which is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
Both players, who represent Paris Saint-Germain, are sidelined due to respective injuries. Dembélé is reportedly suffering from a quadriceps problem. Barcola, on the other hand, is dealing with a knee injury, an issue that will prevent him from participating in the upcoming game against Germany.
Club World Cup Participation in Doubt?
This news presents a potential concern for PSG, especially considering they are set to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to commence on June 15th, with the Parisian club`s first match being against Atlético Madrid. Due to his quadriceps injury, Dembélé is expected to miss the initial two matches of the competition. Barcola`s availability for the Club World Cup currently remains uncertain.
