Davide Calabria is set to become a free agent on June 30, potentially leading to a reunion with his former AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli at Fiorentina.
The 28-year-old defender has spent his whole career at AC Milan, rising through the ranks from the youth academy to become club captain.
However, reports suggest he was moved on in January after a notable on-field disagreement with coach Sergio Conceicao.
The incident reportedly required intervention from other players and resulted in a seemingly inevitable six-month loan spell at Bologna.
Interestingly, this situation made Calabria the only player in Italy to win two trophies in the 2024-25 season, having been part of the Milan squad that secured the Supercoppa Italiana and then the Bologna team that lifted the Coppa Italia.

His current contract is expiring, and Bologna do not appear to be planning a new offer, meaning the Italy international will be a free agent.

According to Italian media outlets Tuttomercatoweb and Il Resto del Carlino, Fiorentina is reportedly prepared to sign Calabria, particularly considering it would mean reuniting him with his former Milan coach, Stefano Pioli.
Atalanta, Roma, and Galatasaray were also mentioned as potential destinations for the defender, but he is reportedly favoring a move to the Viola (Fiorentina).
