Cozza Returns to FC Nantes on Season-Long Loan

Football News

According to a report from L’Équipe, 26-year-old French defender Nicolas Cozza is expected to join FC Nantes for his third consecutive loan spell.

Cozza first arrived at Nantes (“Les Canaris”) on a brief loan two years ago, and then spent the entire last season with the Ligue 1 club. With Nantes successfully securing their top-flight status again, Cozza is now set for another year-long loan. As with previous agreements, there is no permanent transfer option included, and his parent club, Wolfsburg, will cover a portion of his salary.

The defender was reportedly keen to play under Nantes` new manager, Luís Castro, who has replaced Antoine Kombouaré. This motivation influenced his decision to return to Nantes, despite receiving interest from clubs in England and Greece.

Cozza, who is contracted to Wolfsburg until the summer of 2027, is anticipated to arrive at Nantes’ training ground on Monday. His signing will make him the third summer acquisition for “Les Canaris,” following the earlier arrivals of Alexis Mirbach and Uros Radakovic.
