Samuel Chukwueze is eager to put the past season with AC Milan behind him, labeling it as “one of the worst of my career.” However, he also subtly voiced some frustration, noting he didn`t get significant playing time despite his statistics being favorable.
The Nigerian winger recently spoke about the incredibly negative year for the Rossoneri.
“One of the Worst Seasons in My Career”
“Last season is something we prefer not to dwell on,” Chukwueze stated. “It was a difficult season for the Milan fans and everyone connected with the club. Frankly, it was one of the worst seasons of my professional career. We didn`t secure any trophies, and I didn`t play as much as I would have liked, even though my numbers were decent. We were knocked out of the Champions League, lost in the Coppa Italia, and fell short of our league objectives – everything went wrong. It was a challenging campaign, marked by injuries and a change in management.”
“The Fans Deserve More”
Chukwueze also commented on the Milan supporters. “Milan fans are among the best globally. They genuinely deserve better,” he said. “They stand by us in the rain, and even in the cold, you see them showing their dedication, singing, and cheering unconditionally. Sadly, we let them down this season. I sincerely hope next season will be significantly better, with us winning the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia, and securing Champions League qualification to make amends for this year.”
