Chelsea Poised to Complete Mike Maignan Transfer from AC Milan

Football News

Reports from multiple sources suggest that Chelsea and AC Milan are expected to finalize an agreement tomorrow concerning the transfer of Mike Maignan to Stamford Bridge.

The French international goalkeeper appears to be on the brink of joining Chelsea from Milan.

Chelsea Closing In on Maignan Signing

According to information from Gazzetta and Calciomercato.com, the 29-year-old keeper has already reached a personal terms agreement with the Blues. The two clubs are anticipated to reach a full transfer agreement on Monday, June 9.

Gazzetta confirms that Chelsea were initially reluctant to pay more than €15 million for Maignan. However, Milan successfully negotiated a slightly higher figure, with the clubs now expected to settle on an €18 million transfer fee.

The Premier League side has managed to secure Maignan at a relatively modest cost, partly due to the fact that the goalkeeper`s current contract at San Siro is set to expire in 2026.

Milan Seeking Maignan`s Successor

For Chelsea to ensure Maignan is eligible to play in the Club World Cup, they must officially announce his signing before Tuesday at 8:00 PM CET.

With Maignan`s likely departure to Chelsea, the Rossoneri are reportedly turning their attention to Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar as a potential replacement. Svilar also has a contract expiring in 2026.
