According to Sky Sport Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea has raised its bid for AC Milan`s goalkeeper Mike Maignan to €21 million. This improved offer might be sufficient to finalize a transfer in time for the Club World Cup.
It is now widely accepted that the French international feels his time at San Siro is ending and is seeking a move away. A contributing factor is his reported frustration that a contract renewal, supposedly agreed upon in March, was never actually signed by the club.

Milan`s delay in securing an extension, despite Maignan`s current contract expiring in June 2026, means the player is now reportedly intent on moving to Stamford Bridge.
Maignan Reportedly Pushing for Chelsea Transfer

Chelsea`s initial proposal of €15 million plus bonuses was rejected by Milan. However, Sky Sport Italia claims that intensive phone negotiations held this evening have resulted in Chelsea increasing their offer to €21 million.

Whether this increased bid will be enough to convince Milan, who were reportedly holding out for €25 million, remains uncertain. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri are also aware of the risk of potentially losing Maignan as a free agent next summer if a deal is not reached.
