Chelsea Announce FIFA Club World Cup Squad

Football News

Chelsea Football Club has announced its list of players selected to participate in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place in the United States this summer, running from June 15th to July 13th.

Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has not been included in the confirmed squad list.

French defenders Axel Disasi and Wesley Fofana will also miss the competition. Fofana is currently recovering from an injury; reports have linked him with a potential departure from the West London club this summer, with Olympique de Marseille reportedly maintaining long-term interest.

Conversely, nineteen-year-old defender Mamadou Sarr, who recently joined Chelsea just two days ago from fellow BlueCo club Strasbourg, has been named in the squad. New coach Enzo Maresca is expected to use the tournament in the United States as an opportunity to assess the young defender`s level.
