Fabio Capello, a renowned figure in football management, has strongly advised Simone Inzaghi to continue his tenure as Inter Milan`s head coach. This advice comes amidst persistent rumours suggesting Inzaghi could be tempted by a significantly profitable contract offer from the Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal.
Speculation about Inzaghi`s departure from San Siro at the close of the 2024-25 season has intensified, particularly after the team`s recent heavy 5-0 loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
The Nerazzurri strategist is scheduled to meet with Inter`s leadership early this week to discuss his future plans and contractual situation.

Capello to Inzaghi: `Contact Marotta, move forward together`
Despite the clear disappointment and pain following the crushing Champions League final defeat, Capello believes that the most beneficial course of action for Inzaghi is to remain in his current position with Inter.
Capello conceded that the 5-0 thrashing by PSG felt more profound than just a standard defeat. However, he maintains that continuing together is the optimal choice for both Inter and Inzaghi, provided the club`s management retains its confidence in the coach.
Furthermore, he views the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup as a potential upside for the Nerazzurri, offering them an immediate opportunity to demonstrate their true capabilities and bounce back from the recent setback.
“I`ll tell you what I would have said: `The Club World Cup presents an immediate chance for redemption; we are determined to make amends and will work diligently towards that,`” Capello stated to La Gazzetta dello Sport, explaining his perspective if he were in Inzaghi`s shoes after the final loss.

“On the other hand, if the coach responds the way Inzaghi did, it certainly raises some questions,” Capello continued. “His remarks the other night left me with doubts. Context is important, of course, as the 5-0 against PSG is not just a loss, it`s something more significant, but my perplexities persist. It felt like a step towards saying goodbye.”
Nevertheless, Capello expressed his belief that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta still has complete trust in Inzaghi`s coaching abilities.
“This is the crucial factor,” he explained. “The club`s trust is the absolute prerequisite for a coach to continue his work effectively, especially after experiencing a painful result like the way the Champions League final was lost.”
Asked directly what he would do in Inzaghi`s situation, Capello`s response was unequivocal: “I would call Marotta, say `tell me where I need to sign,` and let`s continue moving forward together.”
