Maduka Okoye è sotto indagine per concorso in truffa ai danni di un bookmaker. Secondo la Procura di Udine, il portiere si sarebbe fatto ammonire volontariamente durante una partita per favorire le vincite degli scommettitori.
Stamattina è stato emesso l`avviso di conclusione delle indagini preliminari che coinvolge quattro persone, tra cui il portiere dell`Udinese. L`inchiesta riguarda la partita di Serie A Lazio-Udinese giocata a Roma l`11 marzo 2024.
Le indagini sono partite dopo aver notato flussi di scommesse insoliti relativi all`incontro, focalizzati in particolare sull`ammonizione di Okoye, che aveva una quota elevata (8 volte la puntata).
Le scommesse sospette hanno generato vincite per oltre 120.000 euro, in gran parte piazzate in agenzie nella provincia di Udine.
Gli elementi raccolti, inclusi accertamenti tecnici, supportano l`ipotesi che queste vincite illecite siano il risultato di un accordo preesistente tra Okoye, effettivamente ammonito al 63° minuto per perdita di tempo, e uno degli scommettitori indagati. Questo accordo avrebbe poi portato altri due scommettitori, anch`essi indagati per concorso in truffa, a piazzare scommesse simili.

Maduka Okoye is under investigation for complicity in fraud against a bookmaker. According to the Udine Public Prosecutor`s Office, the goalkeeper allegedly intentionally got himself booked during a match to facilitate bettors` winnings.
This morning, the notice of conclusion of preliminary investigations was issued, involving four people, including the Udinese goalkeeper. The inquiry concerns the Serie A match between Lazio and Udinese played in Rome on March 11, 2024.
The investigations began after detecting unusual betting patterns related to the match, focusing particularly on Okoye`s booking, which had high odds (8 times the stake).
The suspicious bets generated winnings exceeding 120,000 euros, largely placed in agencies in the province of Udine.
The collected evidence, including technical assessments, supports the hypothesis that these illicit winnings are the result of a pre-existing agreement between Okoye, who was indeed booked in that game for time-wasting in the 63rd minute, and one of the investigated bettors. This agreement allegedly then led two other bettors, also investigated for complicity in fraud, to place similar bets.
