Brest Consider Anthony Lopes as Bizot Replacement

Stade Brestois anticipates the departure of 34-year-old Marco Bizot this summer. The Dutchman has established himself as one of Ligue 1`s premier goalkeepers over recent seasons. However, with just one year remaining on his contract, he is among several players expected to exit the club during what is forecast to be a busy transfer period.

Operating with limited financial resources, Brest must find cost-effective replacements for departing key players. An opportunity has emerged to replace Bizot with 34-year-old free agent Anthony Lopes. The Portuguese shot-stopper recently joined FC Nantes from Olympique Lyonnais on a short-term deal in January and performed effectively, helping secure the club`s Ligue 1 status.

According to a report by Foot Mercato, Brest is keen on signing Lopes without a transfer fee. While Nantes (“Les Canaris”) might aim to keep the goalkeeper after his positive contribution, Brest is giving serious consideration to making an approach for his services.
