Brescia supporters are expressing intense anger following owner Massimo Cellino`s failure to settle outstanding financial obligations, which has put the club on the verge of being declared bankrupt.
The team was already facing relegation from Serie B to Serie C. They had previously been hit with a four-point deduction during the current season because of irregularities found in financial guarantees provided back in February 2025.
Adding to the club`s woes, there was a deadline set for this afternoon for Brescia to make a payment of €3 million in unpaid wages covering the last two months.
Reports from multiple sources confirm that this payment deadline passed without the necessary funds being transferred.

This situation means Brescia is now expected to be declared bankrupt. If the club is to continue, it would likely need to restart from Serie D under potential new ownership.
This effectively marks the end for the current structure of the club, which has a history spanning 114 years.
There remains a slim chance that new investors might come forward to take control from Cellino and secure the club`s position, potentially allowing them to start from Serie C, but the window of opportunity for such a rescue is rapidly closing.
The events at Brescia represent the latest controversial episode in the football career of Massimo Cellino, who previously presided over Cagliari from 1992 to 2014.
He also had a brief spell managing Leeds United in England between 2014 and 2017 before returning to Italy to acquire Brescia that summer.
