AFC Bournemouth has successfully agreed on personal terms with Rennes` 23-year-old left-back, Adrien Truffert, according to reports from Foot Mercato. The Cherries are actively seeking a left-sided defender, particularly as Hungary international Milos Kerkez is expected to complete a significant €47 million transfer to Liverpool.
While Rennes initially turned down Bournemouth`s opening bid of €12 million for Truffert, sources indicate that all parties involved are optimistic that a transfer deal can ultimately be reached. Truffert is set to enter the final year of his current contract, and Rennes is reportedly open to letting their captain depart this summer, provided their valuation for the player is met.
Further details suggest that a compromise fee is likely to be agreed upon between the two clubs, with the potential transfer sum falling within the range of €15 million to €20 million. Truffert has already finalized personal terms with manager Andoni Iraola`s squad. Should the move materialize, the Belgium-born France U23 international would be the second full-back to leave Rennes this window, following Lorenz Assignon`s anticipated transfer to VfB Stuttgart. Like many other Ligue 1 teams not participating in European competitions, Rennes is expected to streamline their squad size before the close of the summer transfer window.
