Spanish giants Barcelona have reportedly made an enquiry regarding Hoffenheim’s promising 23-year-old Kosovan forward, Fisnik Asllani. The player’s representative, Ayman Dahmani, has confirmed that the Catalan club’s interest is genuine and that contact has been established.
Asllani, who joined Hoffenheim in 2020, spent the previous campaign on loan at 2. Bundesliga side Elversberg, where he showcased his scoring prowess with an impressive 18 goals in 33 appearances. His contributions were pivotal in helping the German minnows reach the promotion/relegation play-off. Prior to that, he also had a loan spell at Austria Wien.
Upon his return to Hoffenheim, Asllani has continued to impress in Germany’s top flight, finding the back of the net eight times in 26 Bundesliga appearances. These strong performances are not only aiding Hoffenheim’s bid for a UEFA Champions League spot but have also drawn significant attention from Europe’s elite clubs, including fellow Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich. However, it appears Barcelona is currently leading the race to secure his signature.
Any move for the talented striker would likely require Barcelona to activate Asllani’s reported €30 million exit clause.
