Azzedine Ounahi from Marseille Agrees to Brighton Move

Football News

According to sources, Olympique de Marseille midfielder Azzedine Ounahi (25) has given his consent to join English club Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ounahi spent last season on loan at Greek club Panathinaikos, where he successfully revitalized his career. He made 37 appearances there and was voted the fans` player of the season. His previous spell at Marseille was less successful following his move to the club after a standout performance for the Morocco national team at the 2022 World Cup.

However, Panathinaikos could not activate the €11.5m purchase option included in the loan agreement. Consequently, Ounahi will return to Marseille, where he reportedly does not feature in the plans of head coach Roberto De Zerbi. Brighton, who have been monitoring the midfielder for some time, have now made a fresh attempt to sign him.

According to available information, Ounahi has already given his consent to move to Brighton, having been convinced during talks with the club`s hierarchy in recent hours. A verbal agreement has been reached for a four-year contract. Now the clubs – Brighton and Marseille – must agree on the transfer terms.
