Auxerre Strengthens Squad with Signings of Josué Casimir and Francisco Sierralta

Football News

AJ Auxerre, having successfully secured their promotion back to Ligue 1 for the upcoming season, is preparing to enhance their squad with the addition of two new players.

According to reports, Josué Casimir, the 23-year-old forward, is on the verge of joining the club on a free transfer. Casimir decided against extending his contract with Le Havre AC, who managed to avoid relegation on the final day of the Ligue 1 campaign. The winger is anticipated to link up with Auxerre very soon. Last season, he made 27 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring four goals.

Casimir is not expected to be the only newcomer. Francisco Sierralta from Watford is also set to make the move to the Ligue 1 side. His transfer is reported to be valued at approximately €1.8 million. The Chilean international centre-back will then sign a four-year deal with the French club. Sierralta had reportedly fallen out of favour at Watford towards the end of the previous season.
