Auxerre Set to Announce Double Transfer Deal Ahead of Ligue 1 Season

Football News

AJ Auxerre, having secured their return to Ligue 1 for the upcoming season, is reportedly preparing to welcome two new players to strengthen their squad.

According to reports from L`Équipe, 23-year-old forward Josué Casimir is close to finalising a move to Auxerre on a free transfer. Casimir opted against renewing his contract with Le Havre AC, a club that narrowly avoided relegation on the final day of the recent Ligue 1 campaign. The versatile winger is expected to join Auxerre imminently. Last season, he made 27 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring four goals.

Casimir is not anticipated to be the only arrival at the club. As previously reported, Francisco Sierralta, a defender currently at Watford, is also expected to join the newly promoted Ligue 1 side. The transfer fee for the Chilean centre-back is understood to be around €1.8 million, a figure initially cited by La Tercera. Sierralta is then expected to sign a four-year contract with the French outfit. Towards the latter part of last season, Sierralta was reportedly out of favour at his current club.
