Reports suggest Roma are currently in negotiations with Benfica`s Turkish international midfielder, Orkun Kokcu.
The Giallorossi are in the process of restructuring their squad following the appointments of new coach Gian Piero Gasperini and sporting director Frederic Massara.
The latest player to be associated with a summer move to the club is the 24-year-old midfielder, Orkun Kokcu. He joined Benfica from Feyenoord in 2023 in a transfer valued at €29.7 million.
Roma`s Previous Interest in Orkun Kokcu
Although he chose to represent Turkey at the international level, Kokcu was born and raised in the Netherlands and played for Dutch youth national teams up to the Under-19 category.
He recently participated in the FIFA Club World Cup, where he provided two assists across four matches. However, Benfica was ultimately eliminated by Chelsea in extra time during the Round of 16.
According to the French football account Jouers Turcs, Kokcu is reportedly keen on leaving Benfica and is currently engaged in discussions with Roma regarding his personal terms.
Notably, both Roma and Atalanta had previously shown interest in the player back in 2020, during his time at Feyenoord.
