Arsenal Eyeing Talented Bayer Leverkusen Striker Christian Kofane (19)

Bundesliga News

Arsenal is reportedly among the clubs showing interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s 19-year-old striker, Christian Kofane. The teenager has emerged as one of the standout performers in the current Bundesliga season.

Despite strong interest from the Cameroonian Football Association, Kofane accepted a call-up for the AFCON tournament, where he scored two goals in four appearances for Cameroon during the recent continental championship.

What Makes Christian Kofane a Breakout Talent?

Kofane made a notable move to Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen from Spanish Segunda side Albacete Balompié last summer. A significant overhaul in the club’s squad allowed him to thrive and stand out during Leverkusen’s training camp.

Benefiting from an early-season injury to regular starter Patrik Schick, Kofane found the net in consecutive Bundesliga starts last October. The young forward recently replicated this achievement in the league this week. In total, Kofane has scored five goals in the Bundesliga this season.

Overall, Kofane has amassed seven goals and eight assists in 39 appearances for Leverkusen across all competitions this season. These impressive debut season statistics, coupled with his strong AFCON showing, have led to a substantial increase in his estimated market value.

Initially valued at €5 million upon joining Leverkusen, Kofane is now estimated to be worth €40 million following recent updates. Having acquired him for only €5.25 million, Leverkusen would be poised to make a significant profit should they decide to sell him.

His potential transfer fee is reportedly in the region of €60-€70 million.
