Arnautovic Leaves Inter with Big 2025-26 Prediction: ‘They Will Be Champions’

Football News

Veteran forward Marko Arnautovic has confirmed he will be leaving Inter Milan when his contract expires at the end of June. Despite the team`s disappointing 2024-25 season, which ended without silverware, the Austrian striker has expressed strong belief in his former teammates, predicting they will win the Serie A title in the 2025-26 campaign.

Arnautovic is one of several players whose contracts with the Nerazzurri are set to conclude on June 30, 2025, a list that includes Joaquin Correa and Raffaele Di Gennaro. Defender Stefan De Vrij`s contract also ends at the same time, though he has an option for a one-year extension built into his current agreement.

Confirming his departure after a brief two-year return to the San Siro, Arnautovic reflected on his time, which follows an earlier loan spell with the club as a young player back in 2009-10.

Arnautovic Predicts Inter Scudetto Win in 2025-26

“My time at Inter is over. I won’t be there anymore,” Arnautovic stated regarding his exit on Sunday. “I wish Chivu all the best and I believe that next season they will be champions.”

Inter`s 2024-25 season, while promising a potential treble opportunity in April, ultimately concluded without any trophies. The team finished just one point behind Napoli in the Serie A title race, were knocked out by rivals Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, and suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.

Following the trophyless season, head coach Simone Inzaghi departed to take a position at Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. Former Inter defender Cristian Chivu is widely expected to be appointed as the new head coach.
