Ansu Fati on His Monaco Move and Form

Football News

Ansu Fati, aged 22, has faced challenges in living up to the significant potential he displayed early in his career at Barcelona. A loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion during the 2023/24 season did not quite manage to put the Spanish player`s career back on its desired path. Last season with his parent club was unfortunately marked by injuries, limiting him to only 11 appearances.

“First of all, I don`t see it as a bigger risk than other signings,” stated AS Monaco`s CEO during the player`s official introduction on Thursday. Fati has joined the club based in the Principality on a loan agreement for the season, which includes an option for a permanent transfer.

Fati is clearly driven to demonstrate the capabilities that led him to be considered a future superstar just a few years ago. “I am fighting to get back to my best level, and I am here to try to do that,” he commented during a press conference.

He continued, “I think that change is good! This season, I will be here. I want to thank the club where I grew up; Barça is where I grew up. It was a great experience at Brighton, too, even if others think differently. I had an injury, and I couldn`t be consistent. I want to bring that [consistency] here.”
