Amadou Koné Completes Move from Reims to Neom SC

Football News

Young midfielder Amadou Koné, aged 20, has completed his transfer from Stade de Reims to Neom SC, a club recently promoted in Saudi Arabia.

Despite Reims` relegation to Ligue 2 during the past season, Koné, alongside fellow midfielder Valentin Atangana, impressed and saw their profiles rise. Due to Reims` drop in division, Koné was widely expected to move on and attracted interest from various clubs across Europe.

He was reportedly a target for English club Leeds United, who were newly promoted to the Premier League, and also OGC Nice, set to play in UEFA Champions League qualifiers this summer. However, Koné ultimately chose to sign for Neom, who will compete in the Saudi Pro League next season.

The transfer fee is reported to be approximately €12 million. Koné is anticipated to be one of several players arriving at the Saudi club from France`s Ligue 1. Alexandre Lacazette`s transfer is also expected to be confirmed soon, while Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka and Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso are reported targets.
