Napoli have officially announced that goalkeeper Alex Meret has signed a contract extension with the club, securing his future at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium until June 2027.
The new agreement replaces his previous contract, which was set to expire, ensuring the 28-year-old Italy international remains with the Partenopei for the coming seasons.
According to the club`s official statement, Meret, who made his debut for the Azzurri on December 8, 2018, has since accumulated 212 appearances, recording 68 clean sheets. During his time at Napoli, he has been part of teams that won two Serie A titles (in the 2022-23 and 2024-25 campaigns) and one Coppa Italia (in 2019-20).
Napoli also highlighted Meret`s impressive performance in the 2024-25 season, noting that he registered the most clean sheets among goalkeepers in Europe`s top five leagues. He achieved 16 clean sheets in Serie A that season, matching his personal best from the 2022-23 title-winning campaign.
