Adrien Rabiot on PSG’s Dominant UCL Win Over Inter: ‘No Contest’

Football News

Adrien Rabiot, who now represents Marseille, did not hesitate to compliment his former team, PSG, after they clinched their historic first UEFA Champions League title on Saturday night in Munich. Speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rabiot lauded the Parisian side`s decisive 5-0 triumph over Inter Milan, calling it a “great match” that “caps off a great season.”

“There was no contest,” stated Rabiot, who was part of the PSG first team for seven years, from 2012 to 2019. He added, “Everyone here in Italy was wondering where the Inter team that eliminated Barça had gone. Perhaps Lautaro Martínez wasn`t at his peak, and only Marcus Thuram managed to stand out. But PSG delivered an outstanding performance.”

The midfielder, who transferred to Marseille last summer following a spell at Juventus, was also candid in his assessment of Inter`s showing. “Losing 5-0 is humiliating,” he remarked. “Inter simply didn`t turn up for their final.”

Despite his loyalty to OM and their second-place finish in Ligue 1 this season, Rabiot`s immediate focus is on international duties. The 29-year-old is currently preparing with the French national squad at Clairefontaine ahead of their Nations League semi-final match against Spain on Thursday.
