AC Milan is encountering difficulties in strengthening the squad for Max Allegri. The primary obstacles stem from Adrien Rabiot`s contentment at Olympique Marseille and the prohibitive wage demands associated with potential targets Dusan Vlahovic and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Allegri is set to return to the San Siro bench next season, following a year`s hiatus after a challenging period at Juventus. He is actively seeking reinforcements for the team.
High Cost of Milan`s Transfer Targets
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer analyst Gianluca Di Marzio, a reunion between Allegri and Rabiot is highly improbable. This is mainly because Olympique Marseille is unwilling to sell the player, and Rabiot himself feels comfortable at his current club and does not have a strong desire to leave at this time.
In terms of finding a striker, Dusan Vlahovic remains a top preference. However, significant problems are expected here as well. The main issue is his substantial salary, which is a key factor driving Juventus`s efforts to sell him this summer rather than extend his contract, which is set to expire in June 2026.
An alternative option being considered for the striker position is Mateo Retegui, the Atalanta forward who was the Serie A top scorer.
Regarding the left-back role, particularly with Theo Hernandez potentially departing, various sources suggest that intermediaries have put forward Oleksandr Zinchenko as a possible candidate for Milan. Nevertheless, the wages Zinchenko currently earns at Arsenal are deemed excessive for the Rossoneri, especially considering their failure to qualify for European competition, which has negatively impacted their revenue.
