AC Milan Eyes Viktor Gyokeres, Funded by Player Sales

Reports from Italy indicate that AC Milan`s top target for the upcoming summer transfer window is Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. The Rossoneri reportedly believe they can finance this ambitious signing by generating significant funds from player sales.

Sources such as La Gazzetta dello Sport and SportMediaset place the Swedish forward at the very top of Milan`s desired list for the summer, identifying him as the ideal profile for the centre-forward position.

Club director Igli Tare recently confirmed the club`s intention to sign a new striker, and according to these reports, Gyokeres perfectly matches the criteria sought by Milan.

While Gyokeres has a release clause set at €100 million, his representative has suggested that a summer transfer could be possible for a fee closer to €70 million.

SportMediaset outlines how Milan could potentially raise the necessary capital. The club has already sold Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City. Additionally, they anticipate receiving around €40 million from the likely transfers of Malick Thiaw and Alvaro Morata to Como, and approximately €30 million from the potential move of Theo Hernandez to Al-Hilal.

Cumulatively, SportMediaset estimates these and other player disposals could provide Milan with approximately €144 million. This substantial income would give them the financial capacity to seriously pursue a deal for Gyokeres, a possibility Italian media suggest Milan will “surely explore”.

However, securing the 27-year-old striker may prove difficult. Arsenal and Manchester United are also reported to be interested in Gyokeres and could potentially offer more attractive financial terms to the player.

Gyokeres is not the only forward on Milan`s radar, according to Gazzetta and Sportmediaset. The list of potential targets being considered by the club includes other notable names such as Dusan Vlahovic, Aleksandar Mitrović, Mateo Retegui, Breel Embolo, Gonçalo Ramos, Emanuel Emegha, Alexander Sørloth, Vangelis Pavlidis, and Artem Dovbyk.
